who are 24?

Passionate in writing, magazine, and photography; Dito Yuwono is the founding father of 24. He starts making this zine right after his 24th birthday. He is an outstanding photographer with a great sense of composition. He used to be working as a reporter in several magazines, events, and making videos. He currently works as music journalist for DAB while finishing his study. He specializes on stage, music, fashion, and concept photography. His works can be seen on DitoYuwono.com and his multiply. He writes, manage, and also taking pictures for this zine.

A gifted graphic designer, he has already interested in making sketches and digital images even before learning photography. A rather shy young man, he speaks louder in images rather than by words. He has an interesting portfolio on graphic designing, making layout for several zines, and also making ads. In 24, he contributes his work as a photographer, a layout designer, and as the one responsible in making both printed and PDF edition of this zine. His work can be seen here.

Interested in photography since a year ago; she finally bought herself a decent camera to learn more about photography. She works as a lifestyle reporter in a local magazine. To her, photography is more than just a hobby, it also maker her job as a reporter easier. She feels lucky to join a photo club that later become 24. She was ‘zero’, as she mentioned, before joining the club. Now she understands photography better. She sometimes writes in 24 if not submitting her photographic works. More about her can be found here

Interested in photography as moment preservation; her obsession in stopping the second is shown by her enormous collection of snapshots ever since she was younger. This obsession, she mentioned, was inherited by her late father’s similar manner. She gave up photography a year ago and prefers to be the object in front of the camera focusing on creating fantasy; combining storytelling with picnic and fashion through her fashion-fairytale blog, The Picnic Girl. She believes that through the lens of the camera is where the magic happens. She serves in 24 as the weblog admin, keeping the cash, writing some texts in the zine and working on the translation.

Left Behind

24 2nd ed- January 2010

The new beginning to some means the end to another. January left the past one year away. One being left behind, shoes that’s already worn out, abandoned house and office, and even a broken heart. But, being left behind is not always sad. It might be refreshing such as getting a new hair cut, leaving the bad luck on the fallen hairs; or it might be dirty, like the polluted air left by the busses. Being left behind, what does it means to you?

Celebration

24 1st ed- December 2009
Let’s celebrate!

Celebrate the day, the special moments, the wedding, the birthday, the morning, the afternoon, and little miracles! Celebrate as gratitude. Celebrate as if it was the last one you’ll get. Some might celebrate their morning with a cup of coffee and newspaper; some might want to turn on the TV and see his favorite artist on the morning show. Some might have a simple birthday party while the other opts to have a big party with thousands of guesses. Some choose to celebrate special occasion only, while the other celebrates each and every sweet little moment in their life. It’s your choice. But this time, let’s celebrate everything!
